Weather Balloon 1200 g
Our 1200 g weather balloon is a workhorse that will transport your payload higher than any other 1200 g balloon. Although it is more expensive than the Chinese and Indian weather balloons, its quality is far superior. This enables you to achieve higher altitudes with a smaller weather balloon, less helium, and less overall cost. If you are not satisfied with your 1200 g balloon’s performance, we will send you another 1200 g weather balloon at no additional cost!
Cheap 1200 g balloons have short, fat necks that are challenging to tie off. Our 1200 g weather balloon features a 14 cm long neck with a 3 cm diameter. This makes it a lot easier for your ground crew to tie off the neck after inflating the balloon.
|Neck Diameter||3 cm|
|Burst Altitude||34 to 37 km / 110,000 to 120,000 ft|
To calculate the optimal amount of helium you need for your balloon and the maximum altitude possible or a given payload, see our Balloon Performance Tutorial.

In the summer of 2013 Chad, one of our customers, flew his Eagle Pro on two missions using our 1200 g balloons. On the first flight he topped out at 36,983 m ~ 121,335 ft! On his second flight, the balloon burst at 35,547 m ~ 116,624 ft! You wouldn’t be able to consistently achieve these altitudes with a competitor’s balloon unless you used their 2000 g balloon.
